Working or studying from home are common things during these times, and the COVID-19 pandemic has increased the need for this kind of lifestyle.
A lot of people would think this can be easy with no risks or problems, but the truth is we need to follow some rules to gain the benefits and avoid harming ourselves (physically and psychologically).
Here are some of these rules which I gathered based on my theoretical knowledge as a pharmacist and my practical experience from working online for more than 6 months:
1] When you start working/studying in the morning, leave your bedroom:
Doing so will help you to get rid of being sleepy and retain your normal sleeping cycle in order to not suffer from insomnia at night.
2] Organize your time:
When you wake up in the morning, create a schedule for your work/study and don’t say, “I have all day to do this.”
This will keep you from wasting a lot of time doing something not important and will reduce the stress you feel.
3] Don’t waste your break time on social media and video games:
Break times are important to our health, but if you work/study from home then you are already spending a lot of time in front of screens, so your breaks should be “screen free” so you don’t increase the stress on your eyes and the nervous system.
4] Do some exercise:
Physical activity is not only important for your body, it’s also important for your mind.
A simple workout (even at home) can improve your psychological health and prevent depression.
5] Communicate with others:
Human beings are not meant to be alone, we need each other.
Talking to your family or friends can help you to refresh your ideas or thoughts, restore inner energy, and bring happiness to your life again.
These are not the only rules to be healthy but they are essential ones.
As this is my first blog ever, I will be more than happy to see your comments, thoughts, or ideas.
