Syrian, from Aleppo; seeking Undergraduate degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences and is enrolled at Zarqa University.
My name is Abd al-Rahman Kwaisem, I am 21 years old, I live with a large family, consisting of 14 people. I am a Syrian refugee living in Azraq camp. We left our country for Azraq camp in April 2016.
Life in Azraq camp is very difficult, as in 2016 there was no electricity, no internet connection, and no good healthcare.
I was lucky enough to go to school. I finished my secondary education and got 73.8% in my high school exam. I have a passion for learning and I hope to continue my studies.
While in high school, I took extra courses including: English language, electrical installation for homes, and computer. After entering the university, I volunteered at the Azraq camp hospital to receive patients, and I stayed there for about 9 months. I also volunteer with CARE. For 3 months, I helped children with their studies, and volunteered with the UNHCR to be the shelter observer. Now I volunteer with the hospital in Azraq camp to work on sterilizing surgical tools on some medical devices.
At present, besides my university, I am learning programming (HTML, CSS, JS, Python) and I like to gain more computer skills, and I start to learn about the computer thing because I believe that everything will depend on technology in the future.
Why Would Donors Fund You?
I am ambitious, optimistic, and confident. I navigate challenges with adaptability and relentless pursuit of my aspirations. With support, I aim to help those in need, driven by a desire to make a positive impact. Empathy guides me as I envision a better future. Education is crucial for unlocking opportunities, empowering myself and others. I commit to personal growth and the well-being of others, eager to make a meaningful impact.
How Do You Plan to Payback?
I will be committed to spreading awareness and knowledge about health care through educational initiatives and community outreach programs. By sharing my expertise, I aim to empower individuals to take charge of their health and make informed decisions. I believe that education and awareness are powerful tools that can lead to healthier lives and stronger societies.
