Hope is the fuel for work

Palestinian, from GAZA; seeking Undergraduate degree in Cyber security engineering and is enrolled at University College Of Applied Sciences.  

Since childhood, I dreamed of becoming a surgeon, but when I graduated high school, I was unable to achieve my dream due to the high tuition fees in this field. I decided to keep up with the modern technological age and specialize in a field that protects our society from its dangers. Cybersecurity was the right field for my desire.

When I joined the University College of Applied Sciences, I was awarded a merit scholarship due to my high school grade of 91.4%, However, the scholarship was only for the first semester. But I was confident that hardship does not last, knowing that I am the ninth of nine brothers. But despite the very difficult living conditions, my father insisted that I continue my education

One day, I had an experience with a relative that made me love the major even more. One of my relatives had all of her accounts hacked and was blackmailed into posting her pictures on social media. This was a difficult situation for her, so we turned to the people who specialize in this field. After the cybersecurity engineers discovered the perpetrator, they were able to return all of her accounts. I saw the joy in her eyes, and it was as if the engineer had lifted a weight off of her shoulders. From that moment on, I began to love the idea of being a reason for others' happiness and protecting their privacy.

My goal will always be to reduce the level of cybercrime in my country and in the world as a whole. Forgive me if I exaggerated, but hope is the fuel for action, and nothing is impossible if there is certainty and will.

Through financial support for my education I will be one of the people who contribute to the protection of people electronically raise awareness of the dangers of electronic risks and reduce the level of electronic crime. I will be one of the supporters of my country and my community. I aspire to be an expert in the field of cybersecurity and hope that I will be able to do so through your support.

How Do You Plan to Payback?

• I will serve my country my community and anyone who needs me.
• I will keep the privacy of individuals and use my education for the benefit of
  others.
• I will share my knowledge by creating a YouTube channel and other
  social media accounts to educate raise awareness, and warn people about the
  risks of misusing the internet.

Volunteer Work/Social Capital

• I volunteered at the University College of Applied Sciences to register new students and guide them on the specializations available at the college.
• I volunteered at an educational center to teach children and strengthen their reading and writing skills.

What Have You Done to Improve Yourself? Awards and Achievements

• I received the Young Teacher Award in 2020.
• I got third place in the national knowledge competition at the level of the Gaza Strip.
• I have finished the following courses :
