Lebanese, from West Bekaa , Ghazza; seeking Professional Post Graduate degree in Clinical psychology and is enrolled at Lebanese University.
I was afraid of speaking and writing so, I used to write using this vertical way.
I was afraid people would stop reading if my essays were too long for their taste.
Then my psychologist started to change that.
I started feeling more comfortable among people. I was able to find a way to communicate.
I had to face my own demons and found more meaning in my life.
Someone did not see the same demons, and were too quick to jump to conclusions about why I acted the way I did.
I was still a child. Psychotherapy in our community is not well established. Only insane people seek help. Moreover, I personally was not able to understand what was going on inside me .
Our society revered physicians, engineers and educators but failed to recognize- let alone explain the importance of reconciling with oneself .
My parents dropped out of school early due to Lebanese civil war (1975-1990) .
They both know the huge difference education can add to a person's life. They are doing the impossible to give us a better future.
Unfortunately, Lebanon's economic crisis brought our lives to a halt. My father's monthly income cannot cover our basic needs. .
I started working to share some of the financial burdens.
I am a sophomore at the Lebanese University, psychology major, aspiring to graduate and eventually practice this profession to make life easier for young adults and children.
Why Would Donors Fund You?
"I can't change the world but, I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.".
~Mother Teresa.
Down the street, an abusive husband hits his 40 year-old-wife because dinner was not ready on time.
Next door, a child suffers because his parents are divorced;
Downtown, at a dentists's office, a girl child is being harassed.
Our children are traumatized by wars.
All it takes is someone to listen.
I will be there. I will make a difference in their lives.
