Lebanese, from Baalbeck; seeking Undergraduate degree in Medicine and is enrolled at Lebanese University.
I am Nagham Naser Eldeen from Lebanon, a 20-year-old third-year medical student with a bachelor's degree in biochemistry.
My parents are not college graduates, which is probably why they insisted that I pursue my education and choose the career I loved: become a doctor.
Medicine is a selfless profession, built on wanting to make a difference in people's lives especially when they are vulnerable. I am fascinated by the the ethos of medicine, which values altruism and integrity.
I finished high school with distinction, ranking first among my classmates. I then started as a biochemistry major at the Lebanese University. My first year was a screening year, after which students sit for a qualifying exam.
I sat for the medical school entrance exam after finishing my first year in biochemistry, but unfortunately I was not accepted, as only 100 students were accepted out of 660.
I sat for the exam again the next year and was accepted, with 100 students being accepted out of 600.
Being a medicine warrior is not as easy as it seemed. While other students enjoy parties and weekends, I study and prepare all the time to gain full status.
Why Would Donors Fund You?
Funding and supporting my education helps provide me with equitable learning opportunities, which relieves some of the pain in my country. Donors' funds are a way to secure my future and help me finally cure those who fight battles every day. I am a hard worker striving to accomplish my goals, persisting through midnights of studying until my eyes close and my head slumps down.
How Do You Plan to Payback?
I am passionate about ensuring access to quality healthcare for all. Witnessing the struggles of uninsured patients during my volunteer work at a free clinic solidified my desire to serve low-income communities. As a doctor, I plan to practice in a medically underserved area and dedicate a portion of my time to providing pro bono care. I'm also interested in participating in medical mission trips abroad to broaden my reach. Ultimately, I want to use my medical skills to make a significant impact on the lives of those who need it most.
Volunteer Work/Social Capital

-I volunteered at the Lebanese University's student vaccination campaign
