Syrian, from Daraa; seeking Undergraduate degree in Nursing and is enrolled at Zarqa University.
They say that roses only bloom in beautiful gardens, but I have proven that they can bloom even in the desert. Believe me.
My name is Rania Alzaal, a 21-year-old from Dar'a. For as long as I can remember, I was a diligent and hard working student . We left our hometown when I was in fourth grade to survive the war, and moved to the Za’atari camp. It was so difficult to adapt to this new life. My family went through tough times. My mother suffered from memory loss due to the trauma of war; she didn’t recognize us, and I didn’t know what to do. I prayed to Allah every night to heal her, and I promised myself to acquire the skills that woule allow me to care for my family.
I was the first member of my family to reach high school. Unfortunately, I faced serious health challenges myself that almost derailed me. I became withdrawn, and barely spoke to or interacted with anyone.
Something inside me kept me going on. I prayed to God to give me the strength to persevere and my prayers were answered. I won that battle. I passed all my high school (Tawjihi) exams despite the lack of resources.
Today, I with your help I could take the first step toward achivieving my dream. I need $4000 per academic year. I would be grateful for your support. I keep on reminding myself that I have goals worth fighting for.
I really feel that I triumphed despite everything . I bloomed even in the desert. I’ve proven to myself that I can overcome whatever comes my way. Sometimes, I wonder why did I have to endure all of this? I understand that God " gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers".
Why Would Donors Fund You?
I chose to study nursing because I believe it’s where I truly belong, especially given the ongoing crises and conflicts around us. When the world fell silent during COVID, nurses were the life line. Conflicts around the world, and in my region specifically make nurses the first line of defense to save lives. I am willing to sacrifice my own comfort to comfort others. I have a deep well of energy that I want to channel into humanitarian work.
How Do You Plan to Payback?
I will be an effective person in his community and I will do my work with love and humanity and encourage girls to complete their university education because I want to break those rules and negative thoughts about girls and women and I want to prove to the world that I can be a good mum perfect wife and a successful nurse at the same time, establishing my own business which is a hospital God willing
