AI and Gaza: A chance waiting to happen

Hey everyone:

Today, I am here to express my gratitude and appreciation to everyone who supported me throughout my previous academic year. Here I am today, having successfully completed my second year in my university major of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.

The past year was filled with numerous challenges as it required a deeper immersion in my field of study. However, it also brought forth a multitude of intricate yet rewarding experiences.

I encountered several pivotal moments that have transformed both my character and skill set. I undertook various programming projects focused on aiding visually impaired individuals, which I diligently implemented and am currently in the process of refining. This entails replacing portions of the existing code with paid resources to enhance the product's efficiency and minimize errors.

I showcased this project at the prestigious International Girls in Information Technology Exhibition, an annual event. The overwhelmingly posi tive feedback and encouragement I received were truly heartening, especially considering that I was merely a second-year university student tackling subject matter that I had not yet been formally taught. Instead, I relied on self-study resources available online and enrolled in relevant online courses.

While some may perceive this accomplishment as relatively straightforward, it served as a catalyst for my relentless pursuit of knowledge and ignited a passion within me to contribute something meaningful to the field of artificial intelligence that may benefit a particular segment of society.

• Joining the Work for Education project initiated by the edSeed Foundation played a vital role in honing my time management skills, enabling me to learn and work more efficiently even under demanding circumstances, fostering rapid self-learning.
• my participation in podcast and book sessions facilitated by the platform has significantly enhanced my presentation and communication abilities.
• engaging in webinars and edSeed sessions highlighted areas of improvement in my English language proficiency, compelling me to dedicate considerable effort to enhance it. Consequently, I have made substantial progress and achieved a commendable level of proficiency throughout the year.
  

These accomplishments merely scratch the surface of what I wish to convey today. I am deeply grateful and extend my heartfelt appreciation to all those who have supported me on this journey, as well as to the remarkable EdSeed platform for providing me with this extraordinary opportunity to be part of such an inspiring and nurturing community.

It's been exactly one year since I launched my campaign, and I have so much to share. Throughout the year, edSeed has provided me with both financial and moral support, for which I am grateful.

I attended several webinars and activities offered by the platform, some of which were relevant to my field of study in data science and artificial intelligence.

For instance, I participated in a workshop for ‘ developing artificial intelligence products’, which was presented by both Mr. Ribhi and Mr. Taleb.

I also took part in workshops that helped me acquire new skills, such as learning podcast creation techniques which I find a handy skill .

In order to increase the percentage of financial support for my campaign, I joined the work ‘for education project’. This experience taught me more than just work related skills; I also learned how to organize my time better, developed punctuality skills, and enhanced my sense of responsibility.

One of my main goals in the past academic year was to improve my skills in data science and artificial intelligence.

To achieve this, I worked on numerous machine learning projects and completed several courses from Google, Coursera, Cisco, and other platforms. I also participated in programming competitions, which helped me achieve a degree of distinction at university.

Via edSeed, I was able to obtain a scholarship annual membership from Playbook. I'm grateful for this opportunity.

And I'm thankful to the funders who supported my previoues academic year. I hope to receive support to complete my studies for the upcoming year.
