Break the Glass Ceiling

Is it not time for women to lead in the medical and other professions in our region?.

Women around the world, and in our region continue to hit a glass ceiling. Prospects for their promotion to higher level functions are limited. International organizations continue to strive for gender equality, yet in many countries women still don't get equal pay for equal work, and find many stumbling blocks to their career development.

I'm Zoha Moussa, a 22-year- old from Lebanon. I hold bachelor's degree in Biology from the Lebanese University. I want to pursue a career in healthcare management. My biology undergraduate degree and my interest in leadership makes this pursuit a perfect career track. It is often said if the world had more female leaders, we would have not encountered the upheavals we see today. The medical field is not an exception. Courage to make fateful decisions, commitment and eagerness to provide the best ,made the woman a successful health manager,but they make up only 40% of executives, even though their healthcare workers is 80%. This is unfair .Health centers require qualified healthcare managers, which is not the case in Lebanon, where only 15% of managers hold a healthcare management certificate; the result is mismanagement.

Why Would Donors Fund You?

Through my study , I will prove to society that women are strong and undoubtedly capable of taking management positions, as the percentage of women's employment in the health sector is 80% but we find few of them in management positions where they are dominated by a male character. So you are supporting a cause apart from fulfilling a student's dream

How Do You Plan to Payback?

At the present time in my country, Lebanon, it has become difficult for a person to complete his education or to dream, because of the huge expenses incurred by him and the burden of living.If I get support to complete my studies, I will seek by all means to return the support double to those who helped me reach, and I will strive to help others achieve their dream and goal.

Volunteer Work/Social Capital

I joined the Associaion for the Care of the Elderly, where we visit the home for the elderly and provide them with the necessary support.

I volunteered to teach needy students for free in my village within the “Tawasul” center.

I am a member of "Al Hadatha"Association, where we train people to sort waste and conduct awareness seminars in various fields.

My friends and I collected donations for the children of the orphanage in order to buy new clothes for them.

What Have You Done to Improve Yourself? Awards and Achievements

I have a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the lebanese univesity

I did many first aid courses.

I am a professional making materials from resin and I have an Instagram page @resin-by-zowi.The art of resin is a beautiful art based on mixing liquid resin with a hardener and many colors for making paintings or pouring liquid into silicone molds and getting beautiful and varied shapes ,where we can keep roses and flowers inside this liquid before it freezes and becomes solid
